Justinien Hospital, Cap-Haitien, Haiti.

Size of Justinien Hospital: around 200 beds plus. This is a government hospital and is now the largest undamaged hospital in Haiti providing public health services. It serves a normal population of around 1 million people.
Departments:
Men’s medical and surgical wards
Small urology department.
Women’s medical and surgical wards
Large obstetric and gynaecology unit comprising an open ward and a semi private unit.
Paediatric ward
Services offered:
Orthopaedics (1 orthopaedic surgeon working at hospital)
Family medicine (large outpatient clinic) possibly 6 Doctors working full-time
Large HIV programme and other STD’s
Gynaecology
General surgery
Urology
ENT and Eye Clinics
2 operating theatres
Dental Services
Management of working relationships:
Robyn will be in Cap-Haitien before and during placement as a facilitator to ensure that adequate translation is available and security in the workplace is maintained. Most medical practitioners are competent in writing and reading English. Knowledge of French is a huge advantage.
Board and lodgings will be totally secure via arrangement with the Evangelical Church of Haiti with whom Robyn has worked for 33 years.
